CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Yoga Basics – Don't know anything
about yoga? Looking to refine your existing practice? Recovering
from an injury? This class is for you. You will be guided through
the classic Yoga postures with emphasis on aligning your body to help open
places that feel tight and breathing to increase your energy and stamina.
Small classes provide individual attention. All levels and abilities
welcome.
Breathing and Meditation –
Are you stressed with everyday life? Treat yourself to
this calming, relaxing, centering practice of breath work. You will learn
various breathing techniques that will enable you to focus inward and calm the chatter in the mind.
Following the breath work you will continue to relax and release stress through
a silent or guided meditation.
Yoga Flow – Yoga
flow is energizing, strengthening, and invigorating both physically and
mentally. This flow style class is GREAT for everyone.
Postures will be linked with vinyasa (flowing movement) for an energetic
practice. New beginners thru advancing students will enjoy the benefits of
this class. Come and have fun!
Yin/Yang Yoga
–
Yin Yoga begins with seated long holding postures which nourish the natural
range of motion of the joints. A yin practice invites you to go deeper
into yourself and challenges you to stay in the experience. This practice
is an excellent way to help you improve your comfort in seated meditation.
Yang Yoga is based on the traditional postures which develop strength and
stamina. This class will begin with Yin and move into Yang.
Community Yoga –
This is a Yoga Basics class taught by a variety of teachers.
Newly certified teachers will have an opportunity to develop their teaching
skills and students will experience different teaching styles. This class
is priced at just $5 per person. All levels are welcome.
Hot Yoga
– Turn up the heat! A minimum of 95 degrees will enable you
to sweat away the toxins in your body with this energetic practice . Your flexibility will increase as the
muscles lose their resistance in the heat. This class is great for beginners and advancing students
of all levels. Please bring a bottle of water, a full size towel, and your
yoga mat. Be sure to drink lots of water during the day before this class.
Note: this is not 'Bikram Yoga', however, some of the postures in the 'Bikram
Yoga' series will be explored in this class.
Warm Flow
– A flow style class as the room gradually warms in preparation
for hot yoga. This is a wonderful way to acclimate toward hot yoga. This class is great for beginners and advancing students
of all levels. Please bring a bottle of water and your yoga mat. Be
sure to drink lots of water during the day before this class.
Gentle Yoga – Are
you looking for a soft and gentle practice? This class will teach you how
to open your body in a gentle manner. Ideal for seniors and those who are
seeking a relaxing and quieting yoga practice. You will need to be able to
get up and down from the floor. All are welcome.
Vigorous Flow Led Practice –
A vigorous intermediate level flow class in a led format. Inversions, deep backbends and arm balances will be explored in
this class. You should be familiar with sun salutations and the standing
postures. Verbal instructions given as the teacher guides
you through the practice. Advanced Led Practice – For Experienced Students
Only. You will be guided through a challenging, fun,
and vigorous practice with the teacher.
Minimum instructions given. This is a follow the leader class with no
physical adjustments. Please speak with an instructor before attending
this class.
